Farming, as a direct driver for 80% of global deforestation, also releases significant amounts of greenhouse gasses. Agroforestry is seen as a solution for them to meet the challenges of food, nutrition, energy, employment and environment security. It widens scope of increasing by 4% because of ample land available. This project is by Cosmo Foundation, Via Green Yatra. It dealt with 9 farmers of 4 villages and helped them plant fruit trees of 4 varieties. It covers almost 14acres of land and 5000 fruit bearing trees. The major objectives of this project were to give more income to farmers and increase green cover in rural areas.
